Good early spring pollen and nectar flow. The amount of bees returning to the hive per second was unbelievable.

Bees foraging on moss growing out of the old burn barrel. Not quite sure if it was water or some trace mineral or salt leaching from the burn residue which they were after. They did this for approximately 3 days straight in early spring. This moss was about 15 feet behind the colony the bees were coming from.

Water Source within 10 feetThis is a short video of honey bees visiting a water source which is within 10 feet of their colonies. It is within 3 feet of one and within 6 feet of the other. Both colonies are in full sun and on an old concrete trap house. Both have screen bottom boards and screen inner covers for optimum ventilation during hot weather.
